Our belief is that an animal eating a grass fed diet with the ability to move about freely will produce a higher quality, great tasting meat without the need for hormones or antibiotics.
With this in mind we ventured into a crossbreeding program with our cattle. We chose two breeds the Galloway, know for it’s especially lean juicy meat; and the Piedmontese, a double muscled breed that carries a unique myostatin gene that produces a leaner more tender meat.
Galloway meat is exceptionally healthy having an omega 6:omega 3 ratio of about 3:1. USDA research has shown that Piedmontese beef has a lower level of collagen and a significantly higher percentage level of good polyunsaturaded fats.
By combining these two breeds characteristics we have produced a wonderful tasting, high quality, healthy beef, that excels on our grass-fed, pasture ranged program.
