Our farm, located at Fraserfield, has a long tradition of raising pasture raised livestock. Our family philosophy since coming to Canada in 1818 is quality comes with time.
Our pasture raised pork is no exception.
We raise our heritage breed hogs as they were traditionally raised with time and care, they forage in our woodland on hot summer days and help with cultivating the gardens in the spring and fall.
We have 3 breeds on our farm. The Berkshire one of the oldest identifiable breeds, a black hog with white points, having been documented in the English shire if Berks more than 350 years ago. The Tamworth, an ancient British ginger red hog, known for its extremely hardiness and lean meat, but probably best know for it high-quality bacon. Finally the Large Black, also known as the Devon or Cornwall Black, a hog that is making a returning from scarce numbers due to its unsatisfied ability to thrive in confinement is now finding a following among high-end chefs because of its flavourful juicy meat.
